ABOUT
I started my college career by accepting a scholarship to fulfill my athletic ability to play on Tyler Junior College's women's golf team while obtaining my associate's degree in General Studies. Being a collegiate athlete has helped shape me into the person I am today, leading me in the direction where I have witnessed my weaknesses and strengths. My range of interests is extensive, directing me to communications. I succeed when working with large groups of people; I thoroughly enjoy planning and coordinating events, I have a passion for fashion, and love to be outdoors, playing or watching golf. Nothing beats family time and game nights with friends. I consider myself a very traditional type and one that wears my heart on my sleeve. I come from a very competitive and driven family, so in short, I love to win. I hate but love personal criticism because I love to please at all times, but I know I will and can only benefit from it.
My short-term goals include accomplishing my CASA training to become a volunteer, making good grades, and landing a job in cooperate event planning while finishing my bachelor's degree in Communications and minor in entrepreneurship. I hope this has given you a little insight into who I am and what I hope to be.

5 areas of competence
-
Communication: Through my time in the pageant system I have learned crucial interview skills, and have learned how to communicate when put on the spot and express my thoughts and opinions in a respectable matter. while also being involved in a sorority during recruitment week you are to hold a 45-minute conversation with a total stranger.
-
Critical Problem Solving: During my time as an instructional figure for kindergartners in a summer program I had to create lesson plans for kids 4-5 years of age that kept them intrigued, and learning while also having fun from 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Another Critical thinking experience I have encountered is a group Research Project on the study of Health Communications.
-
Collaboration: In the pageant industry I have had to collaborate my thoughts and interests to fit into a bio sheet for interview-based questions.
-
Culture: If you are aware of West Texas you know that anything outside of the flatland and mesquite bushes is a culture shock. Traveling across multiple states for extensive reasons such as vacation, and for sports has helped culture me tremendously outside of West Texas.
-
Competence: A list of competencies that I believe to possess most prominently are leadership, time management, integrity, discipline in any responsibilities. I have obtained these competencies through the many life lessons I possess through being on a team, being involved in 4-h, being involved in a sorority, and being able to work with young kids has taught me to the importance of obtaining a list of competencies and most importantly how to interpret them into my everyday life endeavors.
